love in the shade before the data
In a world increasingly shaped by technology, I find myself reflecting on how it has redefined our most intimate connections. Among teenagers today, love is often entangled in chaos—late-night WhatsApp chats, pressure to perform on social media, and relationships driven by material displays. I’ve seen young girls writing exams while pregnant, and boys going to risky lengths just to afford gadgets to impress their peers. These scenes don’t just speak of love—they speak of the cost of distraction and the erosion of presence.
Love in the Shade Before the Data is a conceptual photographic series that explores a quieter, slower form of love—before DMs, swipes, and curated online personas. It recalls a time when love was written in letters, not typed on screens. When ink had presence. When affection wasn’t broadcast for validation, but lived out in subtle, meaningful ways.
The series captures moments where lovers met under trees, beside walls, or on hidden paths—places where love was whispered, not shouted. In societies where public affection was frowned upon, people found creative ways to connect. Under cool shades, they shared dreams, silence, songs, and promises.
This project is not a rejection of modern relationships, but a meditation on presence. On connection without devices. On intimacy without performance. It asks: what happens when we strip love of notifications and noise?
What does it mean to truly connect in today’s world?
What parts of love are being lost to speed, screens, and distraction?

RELIVING THE PAST IN THE PRESENT, connecting with the future
I wasn't born in the '70s, but I connect with the era, the style, the sophistication, the way people carried themselves with purpose. Fashion and tradition tell stories that live on through generations. By embracing history, I move through the present with confidence and shape a future where culture and identity remain everlasting.
The past, the present, the future, each holds a story waiting to be told
